Lutz grew up in Bavaria, Germany. He played for the German youth team before embarking a career that saw him travel the globe. Eloquent, colourful and charming, his adventures are often hilarious and sometimes tragic. He currently works for a German Soccer team as Head of International Scouting.

A real international man of mystery

An incredible and captivating journey through a rollercoaster of a life. This is a great, easy to read book, filled with a little bit of everything. You do not need to be a football fan to enjoy it either.

Despite it being very basic level of writing, it's an excellent read for a football (soccer) fan, simply because this guy has led such a crazy life.

Most hilarious yet emotive sportive biography

I've read more than twenty other sporting biographies. The list includes Bill Walsh, Phil Jackson, Maradona, Robbie Fowler, Bill Shankly, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Paul Gascoigne and Michael Shields among others. All great stories and all entertaining yet educational in their own ways. The Unstoppable Keeper is my favourite of all of these. If you fit into one or more of the following, then I'd highly recommend purchasing a copy of this book: are a football fan; you have gone through the ranks in a team sport -- whether you made it to a high level or not; you believe the camarderie and jokes from teams are the best; you live to travel and explore.
Besides the hilarity of Lutz's story, there are some very painful and emotive stories too full of raw emotion.
The book definitely doesn't disappoint!
