It also provides a window into how government makes decisions throughout the process, from capital project planning through construction completion. It details numerous functions that a project manager will perform throughout the life of a project. Furthermore, it provides insight into how design firms and contractors are chosen to perform work. the example project is a fire station that combines many commercial materials along with some specialty items.

Susan Keen�is Lecturer at the Section of Evolution and Ecology�of University of California.

Allan Larson is an Associate Professor at Washington University, St. Louis, MO. �He received his Ph.D. in Genetics at the University of California, Berkeley. �His fields of specialization include Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Population Genetics and Systematics, and Amphibian Systematics. �He's taught courses in general biology, evolution, and population biology.�

The book is extremely well organized and each significant classification was given a "General Characteristics" box at the beginning of the chapter. This was a great tool to compare and contrast even small differences between each phylum or class.It went into details on things my professor skimmed through but expected students to know for exams.

This book is very informative and has a lot of detail. It is very helpful for classes involving animal taxonomy. Each chapter is organized very well. The pages are too shiny and on the verge of being too thin. The font is also slightly too wide and annoying to read.

Book is okay. Material within individual chapters could be organized better. More anatomic photographs would be helpful. Book falls apart after use- pages come out. This should be sold as a hard cover text and not soft cover.

Helped me in 45 MINUTES!

I have owned over five small businesses in my life and am building another in a whole new location. Every time I do this I look for a class, book, coach, or program that can help get me moving with new ideas. This time Mr. Frankenberg's book hit the market right when I started looking so it was my choice. Thank God too!
I have not finished the book but he had ideas right away in the first chapter of the book that I used and in 45 minutes I got my first new client from the suggestion. Then he asks you to email him as you do the exercises in the book, I highly recommend this, and Kurt has given me more ideas and has promised to help with what he can, a promise he may wish he had not made LOL. I intend to take him up on this.

Anyway, if you are looking to start up a business or start over like me, this book is worth your money and time, as long as you do what he suggests you do!

A great "Down to Earth Approach" to starting you own business!

Many books related to this topic address only the "business" details of starting your own business. Mr. Frankenberg's book teaches (or reminds) the reader the importance of being kind, sincere ("A genuine attitude of service is essential," Chap. Two), positive, and determined. Throughout the book he provides methods/skills to help you personally relate to your customers and their needs.

This interactive book is detailed yet easy to understand and use. Mr. Frankenberg is an excellent instructor and mentor; his offer to provide readers with one on one support demonstrates his sincerity and belief in his book.

Buying and using this book as the author recommends will be an exceptionally useful tool to create your own success story.

A lot of Wisdom in this Book

I'm starting up a business and thought I'd pick up some wisdom first...this book is a good start. At first, I worried the book might be coming from someone with little experience in his field, (as I've seen with many other books) but this was not the case.

I found the author's approach full of easy-to-read examples that clearly spawned from life experience. I'm excited to apply the raw and genuine concepts he presents. What I thought I should be doing with my business was "wrong." He helps you get focused on the right approach, rather than wasting time and money on "thinking you understand" instead of "knowing your path ahead." Great Book!
