Oddly useful

I learned how to relax, and gradually see "SEX" written in advertising. I was able to show other people how to see it.

Then one day I saw it written on a log, and later on a stone. This taught me something important about how the evidence of my own senses can be altered by social motivation, and gave me insight into cult behavior. Perhaps not what the author was trying to convey, but well worth the price of the book, in the end.

A very informative book,but not so nice to trick folk into buying things under a spell.If your product is worth buying then it will sell itself through word of mouth not putting someone under a distraction spell.It makes you wonder how many purchaces we have made that we wouldn`t have,this could be the reason for all the garage sales.Attics full of things and overflowing pantries.I am sorry the price is so high,more folk should read it so they could be aware and realize they have choices and buy, making wise decisions instead of like automatic robots.

I lend out my Kindle to the girls on the team so they can have an easy read that is concise and spot on for training tips of important tactical and technical soccer. On top of that how do you beat the $2.99 price (sometimes free) from a player of Mirsad's background...thank you and how about a book on playing the ball to space because coaching Girls under 12 they do not see the field as well as they should...

a disappointing read

I was very diappointed in this book. Having read the reviews I looked forward to receiving it but in fact I thought it no better than generic dog book descriptions of the havanese breed. So many of these books, like 'Puppies for dummies' for instance, just repeat the same old stuff. I really wanted to know more about choosing and raising a havanese puppy, but it was of little use as its main focus seemed to be for potential breeders. There was very little about health problems, temperament or behaviour. In fact the book's layout and presentation looks 20 years old and I have already given my copy away to a thrift shop.

Good for under $10

This is a good inexpensive book to get you started. I breed Havanese and I purchased several copies of this book for under $10, including shipping, as a gift for the new puppy owners. The book is a quick and easy read and it explains the history, characteristics, and standards for the breed. It explains what you need to know about adopting and caring for a puppy. I highly recommend this book for any new Havanese owner or if you are considering a Havanese. Again, this is an inexpensive book, it retails for $14.95 and you should find it cheaper on the internet.

About the Author
Wayne Johnson worked at the U.S. Army Aeromechanics Laboratory from 1970 to 1981 at the NASA Ames Research Center. He was with NASA from 1981 to 1986, including a couple of years as Assistant Branch Chief. Dr Johnson founded Johnson Aeronautics in 1986, under which he developed rotorcraft software until 1998. Since 1998, he has worked at the Aeromechanics Branch of NASA Ames Research Center. Dr Johnson is author of the comprehensive analysis CAMRADII and the rotorcraft design code NDARC; and of the book Helicopter Theory (1990). He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the American Helicopter Society (AHS) and has received a U.S. Army Commander's Award for Civilian Service, NASA Medals for Exceptional Engineering Achievement and Exceptional Technology Achievement, the AHS Grover E. Bell Award, the Ames H. Julian Allen Award, the AIAA Pendray Aerospace Literature Award and the 2010 AHS Alexander Nikolsky Honorary Lectureship.

GREAT BOOK

Book was a bit spendy however worth it!! Any one thinking of building one of these unique machines or flying them for that matter should read. Covers many different topics and has charts to back up data as well as some history Great book!!

Excelent Book for serious Rotorcraft Engineers and others

The book covers the entire area of Rotorcraft Aeromechanics which is very broad field of study, indeed. It takes one from the early days of and to 2012 aeromechanics. Wayne Johnson provides a significant amount of mathimatics to support his information. This could be off putting for those that are not current with their math, None-the-less, there is an enormous amount of information about so many subjects that it is an extremely valuable reference work. If the math puts you off, read between formulas and the lines and the information is there in clear plain language. It my seem expensive, but there is a lifetime of information in those pages. If your interested in the subject this book is gold mine and will return your investment many fold.

An excellent introduction to and reflection on Judaism

After reading literally nine or ten books intended to acquaint readers with the Jewish faith and culture, none ever came close to tying all the ends together and creating a real sense of understanding. This book definitely succeeded where the others left me feeling a bit uncertain, elucidating for me things I had long wondered about. Rabbi Dossick does an amazing job of making the obscure comprehensible and doing over and over again. His chapters are put together on certain themes and different topics within the theme are addressed individually before being connected at the end of each chapter and in different essays ('An Essay on Law and Spirit,' 'An Essay on Right and Wrong'). He uses the Hebrew phrases where possible and each section introduces us to one or two new but fundamental Hebrew words, written in Hebrew and next to a transliteration. If looking for a book to introduce you to Judaism, one that's simultaneously basic in the sense that it expects no prior knowledge but stimulating in its expectation that the people reading it are intelligent people capable of choosing from the many different paths he describes, this is a book to buy, reread, and refer to. This book is *truly* the most comprehensive and illuminating book I have yet read, and I highly recommend it to anyone still feeling that their grasp on Judaism is not as strong or as clear as it could be.

Accept no substitutes!

This book is one of the best that I've read in any subject! It is completely and totally accessible to all who are interested in the subject. It is written in a very personal format, so that the reader feels that he/she is being spoken to by the author. Without being condescending or assuming any foreknowledge, the author CLEARLY and SIMPLY(two very important criteria) explains all aspects of Judaism, from the beginning to present day. The reader is left with a solid understanding. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Understanding and pride without preaching

This book, with elegance and simplicity seeks to explains what it means to be Jewish; the beliefs, people, and sacred texts starting with the Torah. Despite wanderings and settlements from Spain, Eastern Europe, and Ethiopia, and Exiles and destructions of the Temple, they have remained "The Chosen People". This book helped me realize the uniqueness of this last century on the Jews, from the Holocaust to the importance of the creation of Israel. The essays that Rabbi Dosick sprinkled through the book, offer a glimpse of a way of thinking about ethics, justice, and law. He presents his personal views, for what they are, and recognizes other views.
The description of Jewish Holiday and Worship, describe the rituals and worship that historically permeate the Jewish life. Growing up Christian, I felt some loss that we had discarded these remembrances of God from our daily life. His own essay on "Law and Spirit" recognizes some of the differences in spirit between Christianity and Judaism. It also helped me appreciate some of the Jewish observances, that as an outsider seem unusual.

I hate when Jeff Kinney write in German Edition! I give up, I HATE it!!

Man, I thought on everybody's mind.

The reason is, I have to be busy right now, so, don't tell me you're not good at me.

I haven't read the other two books after this one, but I hope they're not all full with other people's jokes as well.

About the Author
Michael Freeman, professional photographer and best-selling author, was born in England in 1945, took a Masters in Geography at Brasenose College, Oxford University, and then worked in advertising in London for six years. In 1971 he made the life-changing decision to travel up the Amazon with two secondhand cameras, and when Time-Life used many of the pictures he came back with, he embarked on a full-time photographic career. Since then, working for clients that include all the world's major magazines, most notably the Smithsonian Magazine (for which he has shot more than 40 stories over 30 years), Freeman's reputation as one of the world's leading reportage photographers has been consolidated. Of his many books, which have sold over 4 million copies worldwide, more than 60 titles are on the practice of photography. For this photographic educational work he was awarded the Prix Louis Philippe Clerc by the French Ministry of Culture. Freeman's books on photography have been translated into 27 languages.

About the Author
Tony Koester has written ten books focusing on his lifelong hobby of model railroading. He has been the editor of Model Railroad Planning, a special annual issue of Model Railroader magazine, since its inception in 1995. He is a contributing editor to Model Railroader and served as the editor of Railroad Model Craftsman. Tony is hard at work on a multi-deck HO railroad that accurately depicts the Nickel Plate Road's St. Louis Division as it appeared in 1954.

A. Our book can be considered a quick guide to getting value from Big Data. Why? Because much of the focus is on Excel and the business intelligence tools that are now baked into it. Additionally, there is content on how to connect to Hadoop data with Excel. There is no better time to embrace the fact that Excel is the preferred tool of choice for analyzing and exploring data. This book provides the keys for getting value from data and sharing discovered insights in SharePoint 2013.

The tools that Microsoft provides are less expensive, integrate more easily in the corporate datacenter, and are accessible to mainstream information workers and developers, using the skills they already have.

Q. What information do you hope that readers of your book will walk away with?

A. 1. A quick tour with exercises for using new BI features in Excel 203 and Visio 2013 and then how to get the most from SQL Server 2012 tabular and SharePoint 2013 when implementing self-service and enterprise BI solutions.

2. A clear understanding of what business intelligence is. Also, an understanding of what Big Data is, its role in surfacing insights, and how to use Microsoft BI tools to get value from it.

They’re often confused and need information as to why they might want to prefer SQL Server Reporting Services in SharePoint over PerformancePoint Services, or why they might use the Excel 2013 PowerPivot add-in instead of Excel or Excel Services. After all, each product connects to a database and surfaces data from an OLAP cube.

4. A better understanding on how to get to trusted data and the shortened life cycle of BI implementation while using the latest Microsoft BI tools.

Buy the Kindle Edition - I bought 20

Using this as a reference text for a class in BI. The lab set-up in Appendix A was a challenge for the students, but I was able to build the VM environment with a little additional work and give it to them.

Kindle Edition has screenshots in colour - which addresses the concern some reviewers have.

The first two chapters are a bit basic - and benefit from being supplemented by additional resources (Kimball books).

Students really enjoyed how this fit their program and synthesized several concepts in practical application.

The first problem I had with this book was with the illustrations. Some of the screen captures are OK, but others look like they were printed in color, then scanned in B/W. Just to put what you will see into words, quite a few of the images look as if the image was printed on a laser printer that was low on toner.

The book includes information on some very recently announced features such as native PowerView in Excel 2013. This is a good thing, but it also seems like another clue that the book was probably rushed to press.

Lastly, there are step by step examples that are mostly correct, but there were probably last minute changes in the most recent code updates such as function shifted from just the SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) moniker, to include SSDT - Business Intelligence for VS 2012. A minor point that happens quite a bit with the first books to be released on a technology subject.

I gave this book an OK rating because it could have, and should have, been better but think the fault rests with the publisher and not the authors.

As others have noted, various diagrams and illustrations are not well introduced in the hardcopy version (and I suspect the Kindle equivalents may be worse). However, I don't find this a show-stopper: the book is a good, quick, introduction to designing and developing BI tools using the current SP 2013 release. If possible, find a paper copy and l

I would like to communicate a heart felt thank you to Neil Kramer for helping me make an important course correction. Like many seekers, my story starts in not resonating with the bible. Although raised by agnostic parents, occasional summers were spent with cousins who were devout Christians. My uncle would read to us from the bible every night, which created more questions than answers. Fast forward to college, classes such as Comparative Religion, Theories of Consciousness and Understanding the Old Testament did not answer my questions either. One day while perusing a book store in the mid 80's, I ran across a book titled The Finding of the Third Eye by Vera Stanly Alder. The book stated the author investigated "Ancient Wisdom". I had no idea what Ancient Wisdom was, but maybe it could answer my questions. I found it! Ancient Wisdom! That's what I've been searching for. I gobbled up her book faster than a chocoholic gobbles up a plate of triple chocolate chunk fudge stuffed brownies. Fast forward to 2004/2005 and I'm becoming pretty good at manifesting amazing things! As Morpheus would say, I was "beginning to believe"...

Then, oh no! Sidetracked by conspiracy theorists that shall remain un-named. All the momentum that I'd built up the previous years, stopped in its tracks. I then spent several years preparing for the economy to collapse, riots in the streets and death by chemtrail. By the time 2011 rolled around, the sense had been completely knocked out of me and I didn't even realize it. I was broke, unsuccessful, unhappy, unhealthy, and most importantly... manifesting crap, according to THAT mindset.

One day I ran across a Neil Kramer podcast. I found myself back on the path to clarity, knowledge and inner vision immediately. Listening to Neil's podcasts as well as The Audio Cleaver, I made one of the most important course corrections of my life. I let go of "the sky is falling" mentality that had gripped my paranoid brain and once again embraced life. Having become so familiar with Neils work, I pre-ordered the book!

Synchronicities began popping up immediately upon reading the book. For instance Neil writes about "becoming the wolf" through meditation, rather than understanding the wolf through observation. The next day (!!!) a "Wolf" magazine arrived in my mail box. I've never subscribed to, or ordered a Wolf magazine. A few days later I was googling "archons" and ran across a PDF titled `The Hypostasis of the Archons'. I printed it for future reading. The next day (!!!) reading the chapter Imperial Secrets, Neil writes about The Hypostasis of the Archons.

Neil's earthy articulation of Ancient Wisdom, nesting dimensions, Archons, and the Nag Hammadi Texts (which I began reading yesterday) is simple, yet incredibly deep and profound. The Unfoldment has found its place in the top 10 list on my bookshelf, along side classics such as The Power of Now, The Four Agreements, Loving what is, and Ask and it is Given.

Chapters such as School Bus of Selves, Ogres Bearing Gifts and Paradox are works of art. When reading Ogres Bearing Gifts, I wept through the entire chapter. I'm a Gemini sun/moon/mercury, so emotion is not my thing. When someone can bring deeply buried pain to the surface so that it can be recognized and healed, I am most grateful. Ogres Bearing Gifts did just that, thank you.

Neil is a gifted writer and if you like to dig deep, really deep, you'll enjoy the book.

powerful, very powerful

Amazing. Hoped it would be and it is. Kramer has packed this book with tools and ideas to help clear a path for anyone interested in personal empowerment and the deeper meaning behind our everyday lives. So many interconnected avenues are explored such as magic, mythology, philosophy, religion, politics and emotions - and all of it connects back to the individual. There's a coherent thread of awareness that runs through the whole thing. The book is also beautifully written, which is pretty rare with spiritual books these days. It's just a pleasure to read the prose. You can feel how it has been lovingly crafted and it shows how much this guy actually cares about his subject matter.

A super blend of cutting-edge spiritual insight and deep wisdom, all phrased in ways that give you faith in humanity again! There's some extraordinary material in this book that's bound to challenge even the most open minded of readers. But I think that's half the point of reading it, to push oneself and have some of our beliefs and expectations challenged. I found some hugely helpful things in here that seem shockingly relevant to my own life. I imagine a lot of people are going to feel that way. This is a very heartening book and will make you feel more confident about yourself and excited about the wonder of our adventure here on earth.

Warning: Not for wimps

The first thing I would like to share about Neil Kramer's The Unfoldment: The Organic Path to Clarity, Power and Transformation is this warning: this particular path may not be for everyone and it's certainly not for wimps. There's no new-age comfort food being served-up here with quick recipes for manifesting massive amounts of material wealth, a slimmer waistline or an empty space in a crowded parking lot. Not that there's anything wrong with that (as the Seinfeld crowd famously professed), but more serious work is presented here, albeit frequently with a keen wit, distilled from the wisdom of the ages and filtered through Kramer's (that would be Neil's, not Kosmo's) own spiritual experiences. What is required from the reader to meet this material is a willingness to let go of not only comfort food, but (especially for the uninitiated in the "Truth Movement") pretty much every comforting notion long held about our so-called reality. The rewards - a cohesive framework for understanding the true nature of our world and valuable teachings to guide our personal journey there - are well worth the reader's effort.

Personally being somewhat of a late bloomer in many areas of life - I had my first child at age 46 - it is only in the last year or so that I stopped discounting the intrusions into my own limiting but comfortable version of reality, and allowed the worldview shift being hinted at for years to actually occur. So my introduction to Kramer's work has seemed perfectly timed to help glean through the massive amounts of information flooding in - ancient and modern, channeled, chanted or astrologically ordained - to make my own decisions about what resonates and is relevant to my personal spiritual journey. Seekers who may be further along on the path will also be rewarded, for there is much presented here that is absent from other current treatments of the subject matter. Can you say tulpa?

There are several factors, however, that make this book an excellent choice for friends and family members who might not be quite as far along in this process but to whom you nonetheless want to give a sense of what the hell it is you're rambling on about. For one, Kramer starts out by persuasively establishing the imperative for stepping onto the path, which right there lets them know you apologize to no one for checking out of the rat race to contemplate your navel. And then there's the voice in which he delivers the message: even when delving into the nature of the "distortion" and other controversial and potentially inflammatory topics, Kramer just doesn't come across as a ranter and raver with an interest in buoying his ego by accumulating followers. He doesn't even seem overly vested in convincing the reader of any particular set of beliefs. Instead, his work feels like an invitation to hang out for a while with a really brilliant, sane guy who happens to have knowledge of some pretty incredible stuff. (And if you have a chance to actually hear him speak, you'll find his voice is also heavily accented a la Manchester, England, which there alone lends a great deal of credibility to his views for us Americans.)

So, yeah, if you're reading this review to see if it's worth plunking down ten bucks or so for the book, I'd say go for it; and while you're at it, plunk down $20, because you're probably going to want to turn someone else on without giving up your own copy.
