Left me wanting more . . .

I did enjoy this short book and the author did a good job of telling his story. What I felt was missing was what drew him to Israel and why he had such strong desires to stay. There must have been something about the land, the people, that touched him in such a way that he would go to extreme lengths to become an Israeli citizen, yet that didn't come through.

very nicely written and easy to read little ebook recounting how a non-Jewish Brit falls in love with Israel and ends up settling there. it's full of pep, liveliness, humor, sincerity and twists and turns. it is also a nice insight into Israeli life from an "enamored" standpoint. the part i found stood out the most was how Ashley's story perfectly illustrates that in order for our dreams to find their way into our lives, find the portal into them, we first have to let go of them. a cute piece of wisdom that could just as well go unnoticed.
the ebook, just like Israel itself, is anything but boring...
how the hell did i end up in the Holy Land...or the (unorthodox) way to get an Israeli ID.

A story of thousands by one

A very interesting and entertaining read.
I believe there are thousands of similar stories, immigrants to Israel who can't figure out why they stay. This one is narrated by the author as he experienced the years between first arriving in Israel and later starting a family with his Israeli bride. Although the narrative is simple in its use of language, it is direct and forthright, making the story easy to speed through.
For myself, the story brought back many memories of my own times in Israel, and I thoroughly enjoyed every page.
